As we are fast approaching internal deadlines we decided to hold a design workshop with our whole team, supervisors and members of industry stakeholders to discuss all the concepts we've come up with.
In preparation for this workshop, we prepared 'top trump' cards for each of the concepts we had for each stage of the process and provided scores for each of our design requirements. Some examples are given below:
In the workshop, we were then able to discuss each of the cards and rank them based on which would be the best to implement.
We ended up with the following rankings:
This has allowed us to establish a 'point of no return' in our decisions. We are now working on developing the final contenders from the workshop and won't look at any new concepts, essentially funnelling all the concepts into the 'best' concept that aligns with the project's aims and objectives. The divide in the middle separated the feasible designs from the ones we will no longer be considering.
