Hey! Growing up by the coast, I've always had a love for the ocean and shoreline. This project provides an opportunity to help protect this eco system by applying what I've learnt through my Engineering studies

After studying engineering for 4 years, I realised that I could use my degree and expertise to better the world. With “The Nurdle Project”, we are tackling a serious environmental, social and economical issue, which we want to provide a solution to tackle plastic nurdle pollution.  

I am excited to take part in a project that will have a positive impact on our oceans. I want to come up with an innovative technical solution to help protect our beaches and their ecosystems. 

I chose this project since it was a chance to use what I have learnt in my degree so far into an application that has the opportunity to have a big positive impact on the environment. 

Hi! I've chosen to take part in 'The Nurdle Project' as it tackles one of the biggest environmental problems affecting our oceans/shorelines and will focus on being sustainable which is an area I’m interested in. 

The reason I chose to work on this project is due to the real-life immediate impact it has. The issues and impact from Xpress Pearl Ship, are also close to home since my parents came from Sri Lanka. Hoping to put last few years to use and create a sustainable final product.
