Final Report, Video, and Presentation

By Ellie Winterburn

The 11th of May was a very busy day for the team as we had to submit our report, video and our slides for our presentation. We also each had to submit our own design journal summary where we outlined our individual contribution to the project.

Our group report was a 30-page document to professionally communicate our final project design along with the design process we followed. First, we outlined the context and scope of the project to explain why the Nurdle Nabber is needed. Then we showed the design process and how we decided which concepts would potentially be effective. We then explained our testing phase where we tested and refined the best methods of collecting nurdles and separating them from sand. We then described how we integrated these phases in the form of the Nurdle Nabber to continuously collect and separate nurdles simultaneously. Finally, we reviewed the project and our final design to determine how well we achieved the design requirements laid out at the start of the project.

The report is available to access here

We also produced a 3-minute video to communicate our project to a wide range of audiences. Essentially this summarised what we designed and why.

On the 6th June, after completing all of our exams, the team finally presented our project to our supervisor, our examiner and other academics at the university. After presenting, we then had a Q&A session with our audience. This allowed us to expand on the report and the video and it was a great opportunity to present to a real audience.

Once this was complete, we enjoyed drinks with our supervisors, James and Dave 😉
